I'm Lucas Quan, a Human Development student at Vanderbilt. I grew up in Los Gatos CA, have lived & worked in SF & NYC, and am now bouncing between the two while in limbo school
I'm a growth-obsessed designer at Hard Launch, where I help early-stage startups come out of stealth (most recently Andera). That means launch strategy, brand identity, mountains of design collateral, and new growth experiments, all in a relentless effort to get the world to care about these companies.
Summer 2026:
helped my brother Justin launch his company Tomo
got signed to the first 'music software label' to work on playful musical interfaces through A Vinyl Bar in Shibuya
Last school year:
Summer 2025:
product marketing at C/Side, a b2b browser security company
Before that:
created independent design work that's reached over 20 million people
was a designer for Kanel Joseph, HipHopHeaven and many other creators and brands native to the interwebs
Current fixations include:
Musical artists by the names of Slayr, Frank Ocean, The Doors, Charli XCX, and hundreds more
Lego sets (but no instructions!!!)
Guga Foods epic steak experiments

I'm Lucas Quan, an Economics and Human Development student at Vanderbilt. I grew up in a quiet town called Los Gatos CA but I'm living in San Francisco right now!
I'm currently a 'growth-designer' at Hard Launch. I help early-stage, high-growth startups launch, typically out of stealth and most recently for a company called Eigen. That means launch strategy, brand identity, design collateral, and growth experiments - usually all at once, always under pressure, and typically from zero. These launch efforts are typically back-to-back, sometimes overlapping.
This summer: launching a super secret consumer company…
